A cougar was reportedly spotted in the 300-block of Willis Point Road late Saturday night.
Saanich police said they received a report of the sighting at 10:50 p.m., and the sa国际传媒 Conservation Officer Service was advised.
The cougar was described as being about three feet tall and was observed crouching near the side of the road.听
Police have advised area residents to use caution while walking in the area, and to secure small pets.
There was also a report on Friday after 8 p.m. about a sighting of a black bear in the 1600-block of Charlton Road.听The bear was not displaying any signs of aggression, but caution was advised.
