A has been started for Michelle Gerrand, who drowned July 21 in Matheson Lake.
鈥淢ichelle was a single mother to two amazing children, Mackenzie (10) and Milo (five), who will now grow up without their mother,鈥� the page said.
鈥淢ichelle was truly a gentle soul,鈥� the page said. 鈥淒espite not having a lot of money herself, she had great compassion for anyone in need around her.鈥�
Her sister, Julia, said in a Facebook post that it was hard to find the words to express her feelings.
鈥淥ur hearts are shattered and life will never be the same for our family or the many people who were blessed to know the firecracker that was Michelle Gerrand.鈥�
Funds raised will cover funeral costs, and will also be put into a Registered Education Savings Plan for the children
As of Thursday, donations were closing in on the $25,000 goal.聽
