Get ready for a raucous event as Jack Knox, the sa国际传媒鈥檚 irreverent humorist, launches his new book, Opportunity Knox: Twenty Years of Award-Losing Humour Writing, at Munro鈥檚 Books on Tuesday.
Knox鈥檚 new book recounts the highlights of his 20 years as a columnist with the sa国际传媒.
鈥淚 combed through close to 3,000 columns, picked out 190 potential stories I thought might work, then cut it down to a final 75 or 80 by asking myself just two questions: 鈥楧oes it stand up?鈥� and 鈥業s it funny?鈥� 鈥� Knox said.
The 77 columns found in Opportunity Knox are a collection of Knox鈥檚 most memorable stories 鈥� including tales of Buck the dissolute deer, Barbie Doll having an existential crisis and the apostrophe as a street drunk.
The book also includes some of the nastygrams (hate mail) he receives from readers, which he delights in sharing.
Opportunity Knox follows last year鈥檚 Hard Knox: Musings from the Edge of sa国际传媒, where Knox shares his unique views from the West Coast, particularly from the Island of Misfit Toys, as聽he calls Vancouver Island.
