A man showed a knife when he robbed a male of his wallet in the West Shore Town Centre parking lot early Monday morning, say West Shore RCMP.

The suspect took off on a low-rider-style bicycle, possibly a BMX, police said.

It was shortly after midnight when the victim was walking near the Original Joe鈥檚 Restaurant in the parking lot when a man on a bicycle approached him. The cyclist held out a knife and demanded that the victim hand over his wallet.

Once the suspect had the wallet, he rode off towards Langford Parkway, RCMP said.

The victim was not injured. Police arrived on scene but could not located the suspect.

RCMP are looking for a slim, blond Caucasian man in his mid-twenties. He was wearing a grey hoodie.

He is described as about 5鈥10 to 5鈥11鈥 tall.

Police are also investigating a similar complaint from Sunday at 11 p.m. A suspect, matching the description of the man in the wallet robbery, attempted to rob another man who was walking near the 700 block of Peat Road.

The report of the attempted robbery did not come in until Monday, RCMP said. Police went to the scene but did not find the suspect.

Police are urging citizens to call as soon as possible if they are victims of a crime.
