Tenants who were turned away from their new Langford apartment building Tuesday have moved in after the municipality issued an occupancy permit for the building.

When tenants of 31 suites arrived to move into the building at 1060 Goldstream Ave. on Sept. 1, they found the developer had not yet secured a permit. Ironclad Developments Inc. put affected tenants in hotels and their belongings in storage units until they could resolve the issue.

The company said in a statement that it received the occupancy permit on Thursday for Hedstrom House, a 119-unit, six-storey luxury apartment building, and all tenants now have access to their suites.

Rents range from $1,150 a month for a bachelor suite to $2,350 for a three-bedroom unit.

The permit was delayed due to a late request for technical information by the city, Lauren Clemens, general counsel for the developer, said Wednesday.

A spokesman for the municipality said Wednesday it would issue an occupancy permit for the first 31 units, allowing the developer to continue any work required on the rest of the building.
