Victoria police issued a warning after receiving reports that packages of seeds have been delivered unsolicited to homes in Victoria and Esquimalt.
One report came Friday from a woman on Dunsmuir Road in Esquimalt who said she had received a suspicious package from Italy that turned out to contain seeds. There have been similar report across the country.
Federal officials said anyone receiving seeds in this manner should not plant them or dispose of them because they could harm the environment. Contact the Canadian Food Inspection Agency instead at 519-691-1306 or 1-800-442-2342
