North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are still looking for witnesses and have not found any evidence on surveillance cameras as they continue to investigate an Oct. 30 robbery.

Police said a female was in the south side parking lot at the Coronation Centre when a man hit her on the head and stole her wallet. She was treated for her injuries.

Despite checking numerous cameras in the area, police have not turned up any images of the incident, and said no one working nearby saw what happened.

Police are hoping a passerby who witnessed the incident will come forward and assist them.

The victim told police there was a woman panhandling in the vicinity who likely saw what happened. She described the woman as short, blond and very skinny.

鈥淲e hope the community will be able to help us further our investigation,鈥 said Const. Kyle Cyrull, lead investigator on the case.

The suspect was described by the victim as white, about five-foot-seven with short dark hair, and wearing light blue jeans and black work boots.

Call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522 with any information.
