JEONGSEON, Korea, Republic Of 鈥� Mollie Jepsen has won the first medal for sa国际传媒 at the Pyeongchang Paralympic Games.
The 18-year-old from Vancouver captured bronze on Saturday in the women鈥檚 standing downhill event with a time of one minute 34.60 seconds at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre, behind winner Marie Bochet of France (1:30.30) and runner-up Andrea Rothfuss of Germany (1:32.53).
Calgary鈥檚 Alana Ramsay just missed the podium, finishing fourth with a time of 1:35.21.
Later Saturday, Mac Marcoux and guide Jack Leitch won sa国际传媒鈥檚 first gold medal of the Games, finishing first in the downhill for visually impaired event.
sa国际传媒 is looking to improve on the 16 medals it won at the Sochi Paralympics in 2014.
The Canadian team of 55 athletes and guides arrived in Pyeongchang less than two weeks after their Olympic counterparts completed the most successful winter Games in Canadian history, winning 29 medals for third overall.
The Paralympics run until March 18.
