In the summer of 1967, I was a young infantry officer in the Royal 22nd Regiment, posted to the regimental depot La Citadelle in Quebec City.
On sa国际传媒鈥檚 Centennial birthday, July 1, 1967, I was designated to lead the ceremonial Changing of the Guard.
The sun was shining on the parade square as we entered to Bobby Gimby鈥檚 wonderful Ca-na-da, arranged as a march by our band鈥檚 director, and led of course by our mascot goat Batisse.
The ceremony went off without a hitch, and ended with the guard marching off the square to the Vandoos鈥� regimental march Vive la Canadienne and the applause of more than 2,500 spectators.
It鈥檚 a memory that my wife and I have cherished for 50 years. 鈥� Sandy Cottono
