VANCOUVER — Several people were injured when a floatplane collided with a boat as the plane was taking off in Vancouver’s harbour.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria received a call Saturday shortly before 1 p.m. about an incident with a floatplane and a boat in Coal Harbour.
Kitsilano Coast Guard station sent two rescue vessels. A spokesperson for the JRCC would not say how many people were on board the plane but confirmed that everyone on board was rescued before the plane sank.
Vancouver police said a Harbour Air seaplane collided with a pleasure boat in the water near sa国际传媒 Place. A number of people were on board both the plane and boat.
Several passengers have been treated for injuries and taken to hospital, Vancouver police said.
Vancouver police are working with other agencies, including sa国际传媒 Emergency Health Services, Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, West Coast Marine and Vancouver Port Authority.
