NANAIMO, sa国际传媒 - Relax folks: those "loaded" U.S. nuclear missiles being shipped around Vancouver Island by train aren't real and are just movie props.
In fact, they were used for Gareth Edward's reboot of the Godzilla movie franchise, filmed on Vancouver Island in late March, just as tensions are on the rise with North Korea.
At one point, the fake nukes were strapped to a train car and appeared to be headed towards the Canadian Forces test ranges in Nanoose Bay, sa国际传媒
Godzilla publicist Ernie Malik says the props were likely made in sa国际传媒, as the entire film was expected to be shot in this province, and were used in one scene.
Canadian Forces spokesman Kevin Carle says the military doesn't have nuclear weapons and has not received any complaints about the props.
But Nanaimo resident Liz Halloran says seeing the missile was strange and disconcerting because the missiles looked real and actually said "loaded." (Nanaimo Daily News)
