sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries to hold online annual meeting amid financial strain

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferry Services Inc.’s annual public meeting is coming up on Thursday at 10 a.m. and members of the public can connect online if they want to take part. Speakers will address the challenges of the past year and what is anticipated for the future.

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferry Services Inc.’s annual public meeting is coming up on Thursday at 10 a.m. and members of the public can connect online if they want to take part.

Speakers will address the challenges of the past year and what is anticipated for the future. The corporation’s bottom line has been hard hit by the pandemic and it is losing several million dollars every week. Ferry trips were drastically cut back in March and have been gradually resuming.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions covering public gatherings, only 49 people will be permitted at the meeting.

It is being held at the Grand Pacific Hotel, 463 Belleville St. in Victoria.

But sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries will broadcast the meeting online.

Anyone wanting to join the meeting via the internet can go to to register to attend.

Virtual and in-person participants will have the opportunity to submit questions and comments during the meeting.

Mark Collins, president and chief executive of sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries, will review the past year and talk about the future outlook. And sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries’ chief financial officer will speak about finances.

Annual reports will be available at the meeting.
