In an effort to tackle the problem of insufficient vehicle capacity on the Vesuvius-Crofton ferry route between Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island, sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries will deploy the Bowen Queen on the route during peak season between April and October next year until the MV Quinsam is brought into service by 2022.
The Bowen Queen has the capacity for 61 vehicles and the Quinsam, which is currently serving the Nanaimo-Gabriola Island route, can handle 63 vehicles.
sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Ferries will also improve signage about next sailings near the terminals and is working to determine where it will install webcams and ways to provide more timely sailing information.
Terminal development plans for both Crofton and Vesuvius are in progress to identify changes that can be made at both terminals for an improved ustomer experience, said sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½Â Ferries. — sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½
