The Carnival Panorama cruise ship has returned to Ogden Point in Victoria.
The vessel arrived here late last month to have its funnel, which resembles the shape of a whale’s tail, removed.
The 1,055-foot-long ship had been booked into a shipyard in Portland, Oregon, for repairs. But it was too high to sail under one of the bridges on the approach to the yard. Instead, the ship was rerouted briefly to Victoria, where shipyard workers removed its funnel to lower its overall height.
With its lower profile, the vessel sailed to Portland for propulsion system repairs.
The plan has been to put the funnel back on and allow the ship to resume cruising.
