Walmart shoppers across Vancouver Island have been finding many store shelves low or empty of items in a flashback to the early days of the pandemic.
Shoppers took to social media this week to complain about the lack of cheese, meat, yogurt, vegetables and fruit at a number of Island stores.
The problem this time wasn’t a global event or panic buying but the company’s internal supply chain.
“A number of our sa国际传媒 Walmart Supercentres are experiencing some recent internal supply chain challenges affecting the fresh and frozen food categories,” said Jon Rumley, manager of corporate affairs at Walmart sa国际传媒, adding the company is working on the problem and product availability continues to improve daily.
“We apologize to our customers for this short-term inconvenience and thank them for their understanding.”
