Workers at Nicholson Manufacturing in Sidney were back on the job Wednesday after ratifying a deal with the company.

Nearly 80 people were out of work and walking a picket line last week after Nicholson Manufacturing locked them out due to a dispute over health-care premiums. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed, but both unions — Machinists Local 3 and Boilermakers Local 191 — voted Tuesday night to return to the plant.

Both the company and its unions told the sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ a new deal had been close until the COVID-19 pandemic ended negotiations in mid-March. The lone sticking point was the health-care premium issue.

The two unions have been without a contract for a year.
