Florence Dick of the Songhees Nation and Victoria Airport Authority chief executive Geoff Dickson have been appointed to the board of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority.
Dick鈥檚 term will be until December 2022, while Dickson will serve as a 颅representative from 颅Destination Greater 颅Victoria until December 2024.
Victoria Coun. Marianne Alto and Saanich Coun. Susan Brice, representing the Capital Regional District, were reappointed by their respective member agencies.
Joining board chair Christine Willow are Mark Mawhinney as vice-chair, Doug Crowder as treasurer, and Starr McMichael as secretary. Dave Cowen will assume the role of past chair.
Others on the board are Esquimalt Nation Chief Rob Thomas, Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins, Ryan 颅Burles of the Victoria Esquimalt 颅Harbour Society, and Margaret Lucas and Gordon Safarik, both independent directors.
The Greater Victoria 颅Harbour Authority owns and operates several high-profile community amenities, 颅including the Ogden Point Breakwater, Inner Harbour lower causeway, Ship Point, customs dock at Raymur Point, Fisherman鈥檚 Wharf, four Inner Harbour marinas, and the Steamship Terminal.
Nanaimo Airport gets EV chargers
Four electric vehicle fast-chargers have been installed at the Nanaimo Airport, with the federal government picking up half the $400,000 tab.
The province and the 颅Nanaimo Airport Authority also each contributed $100,000.
Nanaimo Airport said it will offer free one-hour use of the stations until July 2.
Public charging stations in Victoria and Saanich began charging for the service this year at a rate of $1 per hour over a maximum of three hours per vehicle.
