In an effort to keep West Shore residents closer to home 鈥 and consumer spending flowing into restaurants and businesses in the area 鈥 the City of Langford has launched 鈥淭aste of Langford.鈥

The program kicked off Oct.1 and runs until Dec. 21. It鈥檚 designed to encourage Langford residents to support restaurants and businesses in their own neighbourhoods, try a new eatery for the first time or return to a favourite.

鈥淭here are so many unique businesses that have found their place in Langford,鈥 said Castro Boateng, owner of the House of Boateng. 鈥淭aste of Langford is providing those businesses with an opportunity to showcase themselves to people who may not have visited or heard of them before.鈥

Participating businesses will introduce a unique dish, discount or value-added 颅promotion, which will only be available through the Taste of Langford program.

According to Langford, it鈥檚 another way to help offset losses during the pandemic Since March, Langford鈥檚 council and staff have offered a variety of free physical distancing and related floor decals to businesses. Face masks and shields were available at cost, and a new patio bylaw was passed.
