Tillicum Centre was evacuated for a brief period Tuesday afternoon after a damaged sprinkler line caused flooding in some parts of the mall.
General manager Elyse Norgaard Kituri said a fire suppression line was accidentally damaged while a tenant was doing construction work on their space.
That damage caused the flooding and activated the fire panel.
鈥淭his resulted in a brief evacuation while the issue was verified, triaged and the fire department attended to ensure there were no resulting safety concerns to the public,鈥 she said.
Coast Capital Savings, Northern Reflections and Bentley were affected by the flooding and have closed temporarily.
The mall was soon re-opened to shoppers.
