Tillicum Centre was evacuated for a brief period Tuesday afternoon after a damaged sprinkler line caused flooding in some parts of the mall.
General manager Elyse Norgaard Kituri said a fire suppression line was accidentally damaged while a tenant was doing construction work on their space.
That damage caused the flooding and activated the fire panel.
鈥淭his resulted in a brief evacuation while the issue was verified, triaged and the fire department attended to ensure there were no resulting safety concerns to the public,鈥� she said.
Coast Capital Savings, Northern Reflections and Bentley were affected by the flooding and have closed temporarily.
The mall was soon re-opened to shoppers.
