Clipper Vacations will suspend its passenger ferry service between Victoria and Seattle until May 20 鈥 three weeks longer than it had previously planned.
The company, which this week announced it would be going on hiatus as a result of reduced demand during the outbreak, said it is suspending operations in conjunction with its parent company, F枚rde Reederei Seetouristik.
The Germany-based firm has suspended all worldwide ferry service operations until May 20 as a measure of worldwide health, safety and precaution in disease prevention.
鈥淎s we all know, this is an unpredictable path forward at this point and time. FRS and Clipper鈥檚 primary focus remains on returning back to service as soon as possible,鈥 said Clipper spokesman Scott Meis.
The Clipper had previously hoped to resume sailing after April 30.
