Welcome summer — and support a worthwhile cause — at the Lyall Street Service Car Show and Shine, Saturday at the Esquimalt-based service centre.
This is the ninth year of the popular grassroots car show, which is open to all makes and models of cars, motorcycles and trucks.
There is no need to clean up your ride before the show, either, as the event features a by-donation car wash.
There will also be hamburgers, hot dogs and cold drinks.
Proceeds from the concession and car wash will benefit the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society of British Columbia, which provides direct support to ALS patients, their families and caregivers.
The event is free to attend but donations gratefully accepted. It runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the repair facility, 1480 Lyall St. For more information, go to .
