1957 NASH METROPOLITAN
It's 1968, I'm in my grandparents vegetable garden and I hear sirens. I look up and I see my Aunt Vera's Nash Metropolitan with smoke and flames coming out of the driver's window. That vision will always stick with me and that was the year I fell in love with the Metropolitan.
Flash ahead 37 years and here is an ad in a newspaper for a '57 Met. One phone call and an email later, I was on my way to the Mainland. Purchased her on the spot. She was in original condition and had little rust.
The Met was designed with the lady of the house in mind, for a quick run for groceries or pick up the kids from school.
Built in England by Austin with an MG four-cylinder. B-engine & running gear, it was sold to the North American market.
"Little Lou" has had a ground-up restoration to near-original specs, and at 35 miles per gallon, it is a real head turner and joy to drive!

1941 FORD OPERA COUPE
This is a picture of my "other" favourite car. It's a '41 Ford Opera Coupe. I have owned it for 30 years. I had a '41 Ford sedan in 1954. It was black and lowered to the ground. My '41 Coupe is original except for chrome wheels and moon hubcaps.

1930 ESSEX SUPER SIX
In 1969, we purchased this 1930 Essex Super Six from the original owner in Ladysmith. It was built between 1927 and 1934 by Hudson Motor Works in the U.S. It has all-original features including a cork clutch, vacuum fuel system, original paint and upholstery.
It has 74,000 original miles and is extremely rare in its original condition. It is a pleasure to drive at a top speed of 35 mph with its six-cylinder engine and original oak wooden spoke wheels. It's the only car purchased in Ladysmith and still in Ladysmith. A real crowd-pleaser at car shows. We have used this vehicle for weddings.
