Morgan Wallen tops Apple Music's 2023 song chart while Taylor Swift, SZA also lead streaming lists

LOS ANGELES (AP) 鈥 Country singer Morgan Wallen 鈥檚 鈥淟ast Night鈥 topped Apple Music鈥檚 global song chart in 2023 as the giant music streamer released year-end lists Tuesday and provided listeners with data on their own most listened-to tunes.

LOS ANGELES (AP) 鈥 Country singer 鈥檚 鈥淟ast Night鈥 topped Apple Music鈥檚 global song chart in 2023 as the giant music streamer Tuesday and provided listeners with data on their own most listened-to tunes.

Wallen鈥檚 hit emerged as the country song with the most days 鈥 52 鈥 at No. 1 on the Global Daily Top 100 chart.

Nigerian rapper Rema鈥檚 鈥淐alm Down鈥 remix with Selena Gomez was No. 12 on the global songs chart, the highest entry, ever, for an African song. (鈥淐alm Down鈥 was No. 1 on the streamer鈥檚 Shazam chart.)

Joining 鈥淟ast Night鈥 at the very top of the global songs list were 鈥淔lowers鈥 by Miley Cyrus in second, 鈥淜ill Bill鈥 by SZA in third, 鈥淩ich Flex鈥 by Drake and 21 Savage in fourth, and another SZA track in fifth slot: 鈥淪nooze,鈥 which was followed by Taylor Swift鈥檚 鈥淎nti-Hero.鈥

SZA, who leads , topped Apple's most-read lyrics in 2023 for her smash single, 鈥淜ill Bill.鈥

Wallen鈥檚 鈥淟ast Night鈥 stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for 16 weeks this year, beating Harry Styles鈥 鈥淎s It Was鈥 for the record of longest No. 1 run for a non-collaboration. It also tied Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber鈥檚 for the title of second-longest reign in Hot 100鈥檚 65-year history.

New to 2023's suite of year-end charts is the inclusion of an Apple Music Sing chart, which allows users to view which songs fan sang along the most to this year. On the inaugural chart, J-pop duo YOASOBI hit No. 1 with their song 鈥溿偄銈ゃ儔銉(Idol).鈥

Apple鈥檚 data also shows the growing presence of M煤sica Mexicana globally. Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado鈥檚 history-making made it to No. 18 on the Global Daily Top 100, which also featured Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny鈥檚 鈥渦n x100to,鈥 Peso Pluma and Natanael Cano鈥檚 鈥淧RC,鈥 and Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera鈥檚 鈥淏ebe Dame.鈥

Also available Tuesday is Replay 鈥 Apple鈥檚 alternative to Spotify鈥檚 Wrapped playlist 鈥 which allows Apple Music subscribers to engage with what music was most popular on the streaming service this year.

In November, Apple Music named its artist of the year, after the pop superstar broke incredible records: In the first 10 months of 2023, 65 of Swift's songs reached Apple Music鈥檚 Global Daily Top 100. was a catalyst: Streams grew 61% globally when she kicked off her landmark concert tour in March, and continued to build.
