NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� The are raising a glass to former 鈥淐heers鈥� star by naming him the Carol Burnett Award honoree for 2025.
Danson, a three-time Globes winner, has been a fixture on TV since he broke out as Boston bartender Sam Malone on NBC鈥檚 comedy 鈥淐heers.鈥� His other credits include 鈥淭he Good Place,鈥� 鈥淔argo,鈥� 鈥淐SI鈥� and 鈥淐SI: Cyber,鈥� 鈥淒amages鈥� and 鈥淏ecker.鈥� Danson currently stars in Netflix's 鈥淎 Man on the Inside.鈥�
The Globes' telecast is scheduled for Jan. 5 live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Comedian and actor
The Carol Burnett Award was inaugurated in 2019 and is presented to an honoree who has 鈥渕ade outstanding contributions to television on or off screen.鈥� Past recipients include Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy and Ellen DeGeneres. The first was Burnett herself.

Danson's film credits include 鈥淗earts Beat Loud,鈥� 鈥淭hree Men and a Baby鈥� and Steven Spielberg鈥檚 World War II drama 鈥淪aving Private Ryan.鈥� He is also an environmental activist, co-founding the American Oceans Campaign.
