NEW MOVIES TO STREAM
鈥 The biggest of the year not named 鈥淏arbie鈥 is coming to Netflix. 鈥淭he Super Mario Bros. Movie鈥 hits the streaming service Sunday, Dec. 3, after its previous run on Peacock. The film, which grossed nearly $1.4 billion in theaters, has fared slightly better than the infamous 1993 鈥淪uper Mario Bros.鈥 , I praised the primary-color visuals but wrote that 鈥渁s nice as it is to look at 鈥楾he Super Mario Bros. Movie,鈥 it鈥檚 not anywhere near as fun as it would be to play it.鈥
鈥 Todd Haynes鈥 鈥淢ay December鈥 is loosely based on a stranger-than-fiction true story. Haynes鈥 film, which debuts Friday on Netflix, is inspired by the teacher who went to jail in 1997 for a sexual relationship with a student, only to later marry him. In 鈥淢ay December,鈥 Julianne Moore and Charles Melton play a couple years past a similar scandal, while Natalie Portman portrays an actress who鈥檚 come to research them for an upcoming film. AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr called it 鈥渁n audaciously self-aware, mischievously funny and emotionally complex drama that defies simple categorization.鈥
鈥 Harrison Ford鈥檚 last hurrah as Indiana Jones swings onto Disney+ on Friday. 鈥淚ndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny鈥 had a mixed reception when it launched over the summer. Reviews were mixed. Box office was lackluster. But 鈥淒ial of Destiny,鈥 (taking over for Steven Spielberg), co-starring Phoebe Waller Bridges and featuring has a lot going for itself. , Bahr acknowledged it鈥檚 no 鈥淩aiders鈥 or 鈥淟ast Crusade,鈥 鈥渂ut it鈥檚 solid, swashbuckling summer fare and a dignified sendoff to one of cinema鈥檚 most flawless castings.鈥

NEW MUSIC TO STREAM
鈥 A starry special this week honors Elvis. featuring Post Malone, Alanis Morissette, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, Lainey Wilson, Lana Del Rey and The War and Treaty. It aired live on Wednesday on NBC and streams on Peacock. 鈥淐hristmas at Graceland鈥 鈥 airing right after NBC鈥檚 鈥淐hristmas in Rockefeller Center鈥 鈥 is the first televised concert from the estate and Presley鈥檚 granddaughter, Riley Keough, will make special appearances.
鈥 Peter Gabriel鈥檚 sonic teasing is almost over. 鈥 In recent years, Paris Hilton has been determined to (somewhat) drop the cutesy facade and show her layers. The second season of out now on Peacock, leans into that effort. First, it introduces Hilton as a new mom. Hilton and husband Carter Reum welcomed son Phoenix via surrogate earlier this year and , London. She managed to keep both births a secret, even from her family, until Hilton was ready to announce the news. 鈥淚t鈥檚 been really important for me to keep this a secret. It鈥檚 just the first time that something is just mine,鈥 Hilton says in the trailer. New motherhood is never easy though and Hilton must adjust to the needs of her growing family conflicting with her busy schedule.
鈥 Loni Anderson, Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, Donna Mills and Nicollette Sheridan star in the 鈥淟adies of the 鈥80s: A Divas Christmas,鈥 premiering at 8 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. The quintet portray former soap opera co-stars who begrudgingly reunite for a live holiday special and end up repairing relationships and playing matchmakers. 鈥 Robin Hood has been stealing from the rich and giving to the poor for centuries, but I don鈥檛 think he鈥檚 had to battle giant robots before. , from French publisher Nacon, brings the Merry Men (and a Woman) into a steampunk version of England that the Sheriff of Nottingham oversees from a flying castle. As Robin you have an arsenal of high-tech arrows, and you can invite three friends to the fray: metal-fisted brawler Little John, speedy assassin Maid Marian and mace-wielding healer Friar Tuck. This isn鈥檛 Disney鈥檚 Robin Hood (or Kevin Costner鈥檚, for that matter). The rebellion began Thursday on Xbox X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Unfortunately, there鈥檚 a brutal civil war going on, and the troops won鈥檛 make it home to the newly independent Czechoslovakia without a fight. Czech studio Ashborne Games is aiming for a more complex take than your typical military shooter, and there鈥檚 more than combat in this strategy/management mashup.
