Application deadline May 1 for Belfry Theatre鈥檚 BIPoC leadership training

The annual SPARK Festival at the Belfry Theatre includes four acclaimed productions, several play readings, an all-ages dance party and talkbacks with teens.

The window to join a groundbreaking arts leadership training program coordinated in part by The Belfry Theatre is closing, with the application deadline set for Saturday.

Winning applicants will join the program for BIPoC artists in July 2021, the first of two phases. A co-production between The Belfry, the University of Regina, and various educational institutions and performing arts groups in both sa国际传媒 and Saskatchewan, the initiative will continue through April 2022. The program will accept a maximum of 10 participants, with no age limitations, and includes twice-weekly ZOOM sessions through the summer and three months of paid internships beginning in January.

The program was conceived 鈥渨ith the goal of creating a safe and healthy environment in which to share institutional knowledge, together with the wisdom and experience of leading members of the national BIPoC arts community,鈥 according to The Belfry.

Applications are now being accepted. Forms are available by emailing [email protected]. Applications submitted in writing or via video will be accepted until May 1.
