The sa国际传媒 Archives Reference Room in the Royal sa国际传媒 Museum will expand its services on July 30, allowing the public access to files in person for the first time since its closure on March 17.
The museum has begun its phased approach to reopening certain areas of the building, with regards to the health and safety of its staff and visitors.
The sa国际传媒 Archives is not expected to reopen fully until next year, but certain materials will now be accessible through in-person services. The sa国际传媒 Archives has remained open during the pandemic, but with researchers accessing files digitally. Because the Reference Room is deemed a 鈥渉igh-touch area,鈥 the need to balance access to materials with the protection of staff will play a role in the eventual re-opening, the museum said in a release.
The full scope of the Reference Room鈥檚 return will be available at oyalbcmuseum.bc.ca in mid-July.
