THE TENORS
Where: The Royal Theatre,805 Broughton St.
When: Thursday, Nov. 23, 8 p.m.
Tickets: $70-$147 from the Royal McPherson box office (250-386-6121) or rmts.bc.ca
Why: If we’re creeping up on Christmas, ‘tis the season for The Tenors to swing through town. On cue, the pop-opera quartet is ready to begin its Canadian tour in Victoria tonight, the first of 13 dates, which take the group through Dec. 23. The occasion? Christmas with The Tenors, the new recording by the Juno Award-winning group, where left-field choices like Chris Rea’s Driving Home for Christmas and Sia’s Snowman sit comfortably alongside classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Do You Hear What I Hear? and Jingle Bell Rock. There’s a new look to The Tenors — longtime members Victor Micallef and Clifton Murray welcomed Mark Masri and Alberto Urso to the line-up in 2022 — but fear not, fans. This is a dependable seasonal tradition that will not disappoint. Note: The tour also stops Friday, Nov. 24 at Courtenay’s Sid Williams Theatre.
FUSION
Where: The Metro Studio Theatre, 1411 Quadra St.
When: Friday, Nov. 24, 7:30 p.m.
Tickets: $25 (BiPOC sliding scale tickets, $10-$20)

Part of the Intrepid Presents series, Fusion will be hosted by drag performer Peaches N Screams, with more than a dozen performers (Bad Shah, Sylvester Staletto, and Axel Angelo, included) taking the stage through the course of the night. The event is for adults only, due to partial nudity, but everyone 19 and up with an open mind is welcome.
THE UNFAITHFUL SERVANTS
Where: Hermann’s Jazz Club,
When: Friday, Nov. 24, 7 p.m. (doors at 5:30)
Tickets: $20 from
Why: The Unfaithful Servants have been faithfully gigging across Vancouver Island since 2017, but the Victoria band’s performance at Hermann’s tomorrow is akin to a comeback. With opening act Adam Dobres, the revamped line-up of Dylan Stone, Jesse Cobb, Quin Etheridge-Pedden, and Louis Rudner will also debut its new single, Endless Highway. Not only will this be the band’s first-ever appearance at Hermann’s, it is the newgrass specialists’ first ticketed show in the city in several years. Highly recommended.
