The largest festival on Vancouver Island is returning in 2022 with Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish fame as the headliner.
The Sunfest Country Music festival is set for July 28 to 31 at the 250-acre Laketown Ranch site in the Cowichan Valley. The previous two editions of the festival were cancelled, due to COVID-19. Sunfest returns next year at 50 per cent capacity, as per provincial regulations, and a proof of double vaccination will be required for entry.
“We’re happy to get back at it,” said festival manager Mike Hann. “Even though we’re still under restrictions, it’s been a long wait and we’re looking forward to seeing our festival community again.”
Rucker, who is one of the best selling performers in country music today, will be joined at the four-day festival by Dallas Smith, Billy Currington, Hardy, Kip Moore, and Orville Peck, among others.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through .
