With Christmas over and the new year fast approaching, some households are undoubtedly looking at disposing of their tired (and probably dry) tree. Thankfully, there are organizations who will gladly take your tree (by donation), starting on Saturday.

• Proceeds from donations from the Castaway Wanderers Rugby annual Christmas tree chipping fundraiser supports more than 350 rugby players from age 5 to over 60.

They will be accepting trees: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 29 and 30; noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 1 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 5 and 6 at Windsor Park (at the rose garden on Currie Road).

• The Central Saanich Lions will be accepting trees by donation 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1703 Keating Cross Rd. (across from the Central Saanich Works yard).
