Holiday card making workshops in downtown Victoria this weekend
Create your own holiday cards at Holiday Card Printmaking Workshops at the Bay Centre, Saturday and Sunday.
The City of Victoria and the Bay Centre have partnered to offer free holiday craft workshops with step-by-step beginner-paced instruction, complimentary hot apple cider and all the supplies necessary supplied.
During the one-hour workshop, participants will create their own designs and up to eight holiday cards, under the tutelage of artist Valerie Salez.
The workshops are part of the city’s OUR DWTN revitalization program.
The workshops run 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19. Forty spots are available per workshop. Pre-registration is required. The workshops take place at the Bay Centre, 1150 Douglas St., Level 2, next to the Victoria Market Collective.

A morning of storytelling, crafts and make-believe fun with Kaleidoscope
Take the whole family for a morning full of storytelling, dress-up, crafts and lots of imagination at Kaleidoscope Theatre’s Family FUNdays, at their Arts Centre, Nov. 19.
The recurring event takes place every third Sunday of the month (until February), featuring special guests that include storytellers, artists, performers or musicians.
The drop-in event, which encourages creativity and play, is open to children and families of all ages.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is free to attend. It runs 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 at the Kaleidoscope Arts Centre, 613 Pandora Ave.

Kick off Christmas season with a church concert
Cordova Bay United Church kicks off the Christmas season with Sing We Now of Christmas, a concert at the church, Nov. 19.
The concert features vocalist Elizabeth Parsons, Glenn Parsons on piano, Stephen Godfrey on bass and Bruce Mackenzie on drums.
Pastor Elizabeth Parsons is the minister of worship and congregational life at Cordova Bay United Church, while her husband Glenn leads the the church praise band.
The Parsons are originally from Ontario, where they were both graduates of music from the University of Western Ontario.
The concert is by donation, with a suggested minimum of $10 per person, with funds raised used to support the work of the church. The event runs 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 at the church, 813 Claremont Ave.
