One day before Earth Day, hosted an installation that showed how local artists can turn trash into treasure.
On April 21, an exhibition called , showed how trash recovered at the bottom of local waters by divers could be repurposed into beautiful art.
The pieces were on full display at the gallery just outside the Squamish Library.
Hosting the event was Amy Liebenberg, executive director of the . She was the project manager for this initiative.
An opening ceremony from the Squamish Nation's Devan Williams kicked off the event.
This was followed by remarks from Henry Wang of , which has been locally involved in recovering trash at the bottom of popular local lakes.
and Squamish Mayor Karen Elliott were also on hand to extend appreciative words for the event.
The art will be on display until April 31.
