Sunfest is hoping to extend its winning streak following the announcement Friday that country superstar Keith Urban will headline the Lake Cowichan festival’s 2024 edition.
Urban, whose hits include Blue Ain’t Your Color and The Fighter, will return to the Sunfest stage for the first time since 2015. He was booked to appear at both the 2020 and 2021 editions, however, those installments of the four-day festival were canceled due to the pandemic.
The largest country music festival in the province is currently underway, and is on track to have its biggest year to date this weekend, with more than 13,000 fans expected to attend Sunday’s night performance at Laketown Ranch by Boys Round Here hitmaker Blake Shelton. The Urban announcement was made from the main stage Friday shortly before Lainey Wilson performed.
