Marisa Tomei is in negotiations to join Hugh Grant in Castle Rock Entertainment's "Untitled Marc Lawrence Project," a person with knowledge of the situation said.
The romantic comedy revolves around Ray Michaels (Hugh Grant), a witty, sexy, Englishman who, in 1988, is on top of the world in Hollywood, having just won an Oscar for Best Screenplay.
Fifteen years later, he's creatively washed up, divorced and broke. With no other options, he takes a job teaching screenwriting at a small college. What he doesn't expect to find is romance with a single mom who has gone back to school.
Tomei won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for My Cousin Vinny. Her past credits also include Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Wrestler and The Ides of March. She can next be seen in Parental Guidance, which opens Christmas Day.
