Katie Holmes will be in Victoria next year to star in The Boy 2, the sequel to the 2016 thriller about a possessed porcelain doll living with a grieving family in an English countryside estate.
The first installment of the franchise was shot in 2015 at Craigdarroch Castle and Hatley Castle. A soundstage in Esquimalt doubled as the Heelshire Mansion in England, where a life-sized doll named Brahms lives with an eccentric British couple who treat him as their eight year-old child. Shooting locations have yet to be announced for the sequel, but Deadline.com has confirmed filming will begin in January in Victoria.
Christopher Convery, who is currently starring on television in the Batman prequel Gotham, will play Holmes鈥檚 son in the film.
The Boy was a surprise hit in 2016, and grossed $64.2 million on a $10-million budget.
