If you're looking for an ideal Christmas gift for that movie lover on your list, here's a tip: Think big.
Annual passes to movies at Imax Victoria are shaping up as one of the holiday season's hot tickets again.
Pre-sales to current passhold-ers have already risen over last year, said theatre director Paul Wild. He attributes the upswing to the size of sa国际传媒's largest Imax screen and a classic-film series scheduled for 2013.
Imax Victoria, located at 675 Belleville St., has screened 17 films this year, with passhold-ers able to see all regular Imax films for $46, and all the Holly-wood releases for an additional $4.
Wild said some patrons - like one who saw Rocky Mountain Express five times - use the passes for repeat visits.
"It's not unusual for someone to enjoy an Imax experience that much and there's such detail to be seen on the giant screen that sometimes you need to see it more than once to catch it all," he said.
This is the ninth year the theatre in the Royal sa国际传媒 Museum has a limited supply of passes available to the public.
Passes are available online or from the National Geographic Store in the theatre. Call 250-4804887 for more information.
