You have questions. I have some answers.
Q: I love the series 鈥淧rivate Eyes鈥 on ION. There is a young girl on it playing Jason Priestley鈥檚 daughter, who is blind. She does so well that I think she鈥檚 really blind! Is she?
A: The actress you admire is named Jordyn Negri. She plays Jules Shade, the daughter of Priestley鈥檚 hockey-player-turned-detective Matt Shade, in the Canadian-made series, which also stars Cindy Sampson as Matt鈥檚 private-detective partner Angie Everett. As for Jules, she is blind, but that鈥檚 acting for Negri, who can see in real life. 鈥淎s soon as I read the script, I knew it was going to be a challenge,鈥 she told one reporter. 鈥淏ut I鈥檓 always up for it.鈥
Q: I am wondering if the Zach Galifianakis show on FX will be back.
A: FX has ordered a fourth season of 鈥淏askets,鈥 the series starring Galifianakis as twins Chip and Dale Baskets, and Louie Anderson as their mother. But the network says the season will not arrive until 2019.
Q: What happened to a comedy that was titled 鈥淚鈥檓 Sorry鈥 with a female comedian named Andrea?
A: That鈥檚 Andrea Savage of 鈥淰eep鈥 and 鈥淓pisodes鈥 who writes and stars in the comedy for truTV. A second season is coming, though the network so far just says it鈥檚 expected in 鈥渓ate 2018.鈥
Q: I am wondering if any new 鈥淢urder She Baked鈥 mysteries are on the horizon at Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. I see other characters have made more current TV movies for the channel, but not this series.
A: That movie series is not continuing right now, though star Alison Sweeney has held out hope it might resume someday. For now, though, Sweeney is working on another movie series for HMM, called 鈥淭he Chronicle Mysteries.鈥 She plays a novelist who loves solving, well, mysteries. Look for the first movie early next year.
Q: Has 鈥淚nstinct鈥 been cancelled?
A: No. The detective drama starring Alan Cumming ended its first season July 1, but CBS has ordered a second run. It鈥檚 not in the network鈥檚 fall lineup, so look for it sometime later in the new TV season, possibly very late. The first season did not begin until April of this year. By the way, some other returning shows that will arrive later in CBS鈥檚 season are 鈥淓lementary,鈥 鈥淟ife in Pieces,鈥 鈥淢an with a Plan鈥 and 鈥淭he Amazing Race.鈥
Here鈥檚 an old question with a new answer.
Q: Is 鈥淒esignated Survivor鈥 coming back?
A: As I mentioned before, ABC cancelled the presidential drama starring Kiefer Sutherland, and for some time it did not appear another network would pick up. But recently Sutherland announced a deal had been made with Netflix for a third season. The 10-episode season will arrive in 2019, says the network, and will find Sutherland鈥檚 character, President Tom Kirkman, in his election campaign. 鈥淲hat does it take to make a leader?鈥 the streaming service asks. 鈥淲hat price will he be willing to pay? This season will explore today鈥檚 world of campaigning, smear tactics, debates, campaign finance and 鈥榝ake news.鈥 Democracy, as we know it, will hang in the balance.鈥
