David Oliver Relin, co-author of the bestselling book Three Cups of Tea that drew allegations parts of it were fabricated, has committed suicide in Oregon, authorities said.
Relin, 49, died near Portland on Nov. 14 of blunt force head injury, a medical examiner said.
Relin was co-author with Greg Mortenson of Three Cups of Tea, which recounts how Mortenson started building schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The book came under scrutiny last year when 60 Minutes and author Jon Krakauer alleged that it contained fabrications.
