Boundaries
(Vic Theatre) When Jack (Christopher Plummer) gets booted out of his retirement home, he turns to his two daughters for help. While Jojo (Kristen Schaal) agrees to take him in, Laura has no desire to reconnect with her father. After he offers to pay for her sons private school tuition, Laura reluctantly agrees to drive him down the coast. Little does she know, Jack plans to get that money by selling his copious supply of marijuana along the way. 14A

Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot

Hearts Beat Loud
(Capitol 6) A musical in everything but name, this joining of stars Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons features terrific songs and proof that sometimes wearing your heart on your sleeve is the only way to go. PG

Mary Shelley
(Vic Theatre) Elle Fanning stars in this irresistible gothic romance as Mary Wellstone Godwin, a rebellious young woman who falls for seductive poet Percy Shelley (Douglas Booth). Their fierce love affair bears all the wild passion and heartbreak that would inspire her to create the horror classic Frankenstein. Originally published anonymously, Mary soon finds her attempt to claim ownership over the novel is undermined by those believing such a work could have only been written by a man. PG
