Hollywood funnyman Will Ferrell made an appearance at a Vancouver Whitecaps game over the weekend -- but he wasn't supporting the local team.
The beloved Elf star was spotted at the playoff match between the on Sunday, Nov. 5. He's a part owner of the California-based Major League Soccer (MLS) club and they beat the Whitecaps (the final score was 1-0).

Several locals chimed in on Ferrell's local appearance in the comments below the post, with several of them remarking that he was booed for supporting his L.A. team. One fan said he heard people booing but added: "He’s the co-owner, but we still love him."
Another fan said someone should tell the popular actor that Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko had several of his movie characters featured on his hockey masks.

She shared a couple of photos from the event on social media, quipping that she couldn't believe she "just booed Mugatu," which was Ferrell's role as the outrageous super-villain in the popular film Zoolander starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
