P.E.I.'s East Pointers lead pack with total of three wins at East Coast Music Awards

CHARLOTTETOWN 鈥 P.E.I.鈥檚 The East Pointers are multiple winners as the East Coast Music Awards wrapped up today in Charlottetown.

The group won contemporary roots recording and pop recording of the year for 鈥淪afe in Sound鈥 鈥 adding to its group recording of the year award that was handed out during a gala show on Thursday.

Singer-songwriter Jenn Grant picked up song of the year for 鈥淛udy鈥 adding to her previous win on Thursday as songwriter of the year.

Newfoundland and Labrador singer-songwriter Tim Baker also added to his solo recording win with the award for folk recording of the year for 鈥淭he Festival鈥 while Indigenous artist of the year Morgan Toney won roots traditional recording for 鈥淩esilience.鈥

Nova Scotia鈥檚 Charlie A鈥機ourt won blues recording for 鈥淚nternational Roots & Blues Kitchen Party鈥 while Newfoundland and Labrador鈥檚 Jason Benoit was awarded country recording for 鈥淭ime Traveller - The Album.鈥

Rap hip-hop recording went to New Brunswick鈥檚 City Natives for 鈥淪till Chief鈥檔鈥 and Nova Scotia鈥檚 The Bombadils won rising star recording for 鈥淭ell Me I鈥檓 Not Dreaming.鈥

Children鈥檚 entertainer - The Swinging Belles

Choral recording - Luminos Ensemble - 鈥淚n the Crystalline Vault of Heaven鈥

Classical composer - Andrew Staniland - 鈥淏lackwood Sketches鈥

Classical recording - Bill Brennan - Kaleidoscope - 鈥淢usic for Mallet Instruments鈥 聽
