Foundation the charity of choice for Bayview Place Cardtronics Open

The golf tournament that has brought professionals like Adam Hadwin, Steve Stricker and Mike Weir to Victoria over the years once again has the Children鈥檚 Health Foundation of Vancouver Island as its charity of choice.

The golf tournament that has brought professionals like Adam Hadwin, Steve Stricker and Mike Weir to Victoria over the years once again has the Children鈥檚 Health Foundation of Vancouver Island as its charity of choice.

Now called the Bayview Place Cardtronics Open, presented by the sa国际传媒 and part of the Mackenzie PGA Tour sa国际传媒, the event is being held at Uplands Golf Club.

The tournament week started last Sunday with a youth event and the professionals wind up today.

The foundation has benefited from the tournament for the past three years, with a total of $89,000 raised.

鈥淲e select a charity every year,鈥 said Victoria Open Golf Society director Keith Dagg.

鈥淎nd because of what they鈥檙e doing we selected the foundation.鈥

The foundation is important to the community, he said.

鈥淭hey鈥檙e really out there for kids, they support Jeneece Place,鈥 Dagg said.聽 鈥淭he programs they do for kids are just huge, and we want to give back to charities who look after kids.鈥

Extra fundraising plans during the 2017 tournament promise to generate more funds than ever, he said.
