Bird watchers are welcome to join the Friends of Shoal Harbour on Sunday for the annual return of bufflehead ducks to the Shoal Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
The small black-and-white migratory ducks typically arrive at the sanctuary around Oct. 15 every year. To mark the occasion, an All Buffleheads Day Celebration takes place at Lillian Hof-far Park, MacDonald Park Rd., in North Saanich from 11 a.m. to noon.
