The final credits for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are rolling. The near-capacity audience is starting to file out. It has been a rough showing. A baby was there, crying repeatedly. The parents shushed but didn't leave. Irritated audience members called out at least twice: "The baby wants to go home." In one row, a group of perfectly-nice 20-somethings talked in conversation-voice throughout the film, filling in plot details for each other.

As the lights come up, the devastation becomes apparent. In the cup-holders of row upon row of seats, soda-pop paper cups have been left behind. Popcorn is scattered everywhere. Pizza containers with partially-eaten slices sit on the floor. There's a french-fry cone on a seat.
