Dear Dr. Roach: What are your thoughts on the COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy? I have read that it is safe. Could you explain how? I have a minimal understanding of the mRNA vaccine, and no understanding on how it could affect pregnancy. H.B.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am a 58-year-old healthy woman. I am six feet tall, and weigh 130 pounds. My last blood pressure reading was 100/58. I have Raynaud鈥檚 phenomenon. I exercise every day (walk, bike, snowshoe).

Dear Dr. Roach: In your recent column about the COVID-19 vaccine, you review the Pfizer vaccine results along with your suggested approach.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am a 77-year-old man in good health. I was diagnosed with Crohn鈥檚 disease about 15 years ago, but had no symptoms. Recently, I had a colonoscopy after blood was found in my stool.

Dear Dr. Roach: I read your column every day and have seen many questions about the Shingrix vaccine. I have a question that hasn鈥檛 been addressed.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am 74 and in very good health. I鈥檓 active and walk twice daily. Maybe a few times a day I get a tickle in my throat that causes me to cough a few times. If I suck on a hard candy or take a drink of water, it is soothed.

Dear Dr. Roach: These days, when vitamin D is recommended at every turn, I need to be sure I am taking the right dose. When I took 5,000 IU daily, my blood calcium levels increased and my doctor said to cut back to 2,000 IU daily.

Dear Dr. Roach: You mentioned checking a calcium score to help determine risk of having a heart attack. Please explain what that is. Thank you. J.S.

Dear Dr. Roach: My cousin was in his mid-40s when he died of a brain tumour, more than 10 years ago. After having similar symptoms, my other cousin, his older sister, who is in her mid-60s, just had surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor.
