Experience real country fun for the whole family Saturday at the 103rd Cobble Hill Fair. This old-fashioned country fair and exhibition features agricultural displays, livestock and family entertainment.

The one-day fair is presented by the Shawnigan Cobble Hill Farmers Institute and Agricultural Society. Outdoor exhibits and activities run all da,y with children's games, a hay-bale toss, display of vintage machinery, blacksmith demonstrations and livestock shows.

There will be a Women's Institute Tea at 11: 30 a.m., an SPCA pet show at 12: 30 p.m., a scarecrow competition at 1 p.m., a poetry contest and a sheep dog demonstration.

Live entertainment runs between 10 a.m. and 4: 30 p.m.

The fair begins with a pancake breakfast at 7: 30 a.m., followed by a parade with a bike and mini float contest at 9: 30 a.m. The Cobble Hill horse show begins at 8: 30 a.m., with the official opening of the Cobble Hill Fair at 10 a.m. It ends at 5 p.m.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and children 12 to 16. Children under 12 admitted free. The fair is at 3550 Watson Ave. in Cobble Hill. If you're travelling from Victoria, turn left at Hutchinson Road. From Duncan, turn right at the Cobble Hill Road traffic light and follow the signs. Proceeds from a live and silent auction go toward a new roof for the Cobble Hill Hall. For more information, go to cobblehillfair.ca.
