Enjoy hobnobbing with the stars?
You'll see a number of real stars - weather permitting - at the annual RASCals Star Party, presented by the Victoria Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of sa国际传媒.
Everyone is welcome to join local amateur astronomers as they observe stars, planets and other celestial objects Friday and Saturday.
There will be guest speakers and a guided telescope walk at 9: 30 p.m. on both evenings, followed by viewing of the night sky until dawn.
Solar viewing is set for all day Saturday. A swap meet starts at 1 p.m., workshops at 2 p.m. and kids' activities run 4 to 6 p.m.
The event is free. The star party begins at noon on Friday, with guest speakers at 8: 30 p.m. and star-gazing both evenings.
Gather at the cricket field and municipal grounds in Metchosin, behind the Metchosin Fire Hall, 4450 Happy Valley Rd. A camping area is available - suggested donation $20.
