Couple to share Kilimanjaro experiences

Barb Jusiak knew where she wanted to celebrate her birthday on March 22 this year: to stand at the top of Kilimanjaro and celebrate life.

Barb and her husband Mike crossed that trip off her bucket list after climbing for six days on the Machame, also known as the "Whiskey" route, one of the most difficult climbs on Kilimanjaro.

That route offered amazing views, time for reflection and an opportunity to learn about the lives of villagers who make their living on the mountain.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, Barb and Mike will share their experiences in Robinson's Adventure series.

"Barb and Mike will show with their stunning photos and stories that the views and the people make it worth the effort," said Robinson's owner Gayle Robinson. "It is like no other place on Earth."

The Jusiaks' Kilimanjaro talk will start at 7 p.m. (Doors open at 6: 45) Tickets are $5 and can be reserved by calling 250-385-3429 or online at robinsonsoutdoors.com

Robinson's Outdoor Store is at 1307 Broad St.
