The Stanley Park Easter train will be back in the famed Vancouver park this spring.

Those who missed out on the return of the Stanley Park Christmas train will have another opportunity to ride the rails through the park this spring.

"Our team is working hard to get the plaza and forest ready for a memorable experience on the Easter train," the Stanley Park Railway announced earlier this month.

The train will be returning this spring, but a schedule hasn't been released. It's the exact same railway except things will be Easter-themed instead of Christmas.

Actually, there will be one other difference this time around: the return of the accessibility carriage, which means people with mobility issues will be able to take a trip through the forest railway.

"Following shipping delays of essential parts necessary to meet regulatory standards set by Technical Safety BC, the reopening of the accessibility carriage ensures equal access for all," states Mayor Ken Sim in press release from the Office of the Mayor.

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation will consider a motion soon to reduce fares for people on the accessibility carriage, according to the release.

The train, which normally runs for a variety of seasonal events throughout the year, has faced numerous closures over the past few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coyote concerns and repairs necessary to operate the train safely.

The dates and times for the train have not been announced. Ticket information will be coming soon.
