Another new, low-cost carrier is a step closer to taking its first flight in sa国际传媒.

On Saturday (Feb. 26) just after 2:30 p.m., sa国际传媒 Jetlines' first aircraft, an airbus 320 registered under C-GCJL, landed at the Kitchener/Waterloo Airport (CYKF).

The aircraft was flown from Shannon, Ireland where it recently underwent painting and interior refurbishing. The flight was operated by Captain Randy Howe (sa国际传媒 Jetlines’ Chief Pilot) and Captain Colin Forrest, both pilots having recently completed their sa国际传媒 Jetlines’ A320 pilot training and simulator check ride monitored by Transport sa国际传媒.

“This is a very special day for sa国际传媒 Jetlines,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO of sa国际传媒 Jetlines. “I am very proud of the hard work completed by the entire sa国际传媒Jetlines team which made this day possible. The amazing aircraft livery and interior represent the new, fun, and exciting sa国际传媒 Jetlines. This is an important milestone for our airline as we continue on the path to obtain our Air Operator Certificate from Transport sa国际传媒. We are looking forward to operating our first revenue flights and welcoming our first guests following the receipt of regulatory approvals.”

With a projected growth of 15 aircraft by 2025, sa国际传媒 Jetlines says it "aims to offer the best-in-class operating economics, efficient aircraft design, and accessible flight options without sacrificing quality or convenience."

The Canadian carrier plans to launch this spring and offer affordable travel with a variety of travel options including popular sun destinations.

Entertainment on sa国际传媒 Jetlines

The new carrier has chosen Moment, a technology company that has developed a wide range of infotainment solutions in the transportation industry, to equip its growing fleet of Airbus 320 aircraft.

The "Flymingo Box" system will offer a flexible, aircraft-powered digital suite with wireless in-flight entertainment options including real-time travel information.

sa国际传媒 Jetlines states that passengers will be able to easily connect to a local cloud via their browser and access entertainment services directly on their mobile devices. "Designed as a compact, battery-operated or aircraft powered server, the system has the capacity to provide video streaming to 100 passengers simultaneously."
